International Graduate School of Neuroscience

Ruhr-Universität Bochum

The International Graduate School of Neuroscience (IGSN) of the Ruhr University Bochum was founded in 2001 on an initiative of the Ministry of Science and Research of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. Currently host to ca. 50 students, the IGSN offers a PhD-programme that integrates research with an educational curriculum that qualifies young scientists to compete at the highest level of international neuroscientists.

Multidisciplinary research projects are offered in areas such as developmental, molecular, systems, cognitive, clinical or computational neuroscience. They originate from disciplines such as biology, chemistry, computer science, engineering, mathematics, medicine, neuroinformatics, physics, and psychology. Their common denominator is their academic excellence and their determination to pursue a career in neuroscience.
