Systems Neuroscience & Neurotechnology Unit

Universität des Saarlandes

The Systems Neuroscience & Neurotechnology Unit (SNN-Unit) is directed by Prof. Dr. Dr. Daniel J. Strauss. The SNN-Unit performs multidisciplinary research on multiscale systems neuroscience, quantitative neuromodeling, and neuroimaging. Together with collaboration partners of the Neurocenter, Saarland University Hospital, the SNN-Unit tries to brigehirne the gap between theoretical and computational approaches in systems neuroscience and neurotechnological applications in clinical medicine
We are particularly interested in problems related to selective attention and auditory processing & perception. Our methodological focus is on computational multiscale modeling, signal processing, pattern recognition, and neuroimaging methods for several spatiotemporal scales. In an institutionalized collaboration with the Leibniz-Institute for New Materials, Saarbrücken, Germany, we perform research on the interface of systems neuroscience and material science.
The SNN-Unit belongs to the Medical F
